On October 20, the Peterborough Women’s Events Committee will hold our annual Persons Day Breakfast at Trinity United Church, at 360 Reid St., Peterborough. Doors open at 6:30 a.m. for breakfast at 7 a.m. Tickets are $12 or PWYC and are available from Titles Book Store, Kawartha World Issues Centre, Elizabeth Fry and the Kawartha Sexual Assault Centre. For more details, see flyer.
Our theme this year is “Justice? Women and the Law,” and we are very excited to have as our speaker Kim Pate, National Director of the Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies and a tireless advocate for justice for women in conflict with the law. She is also a wonderful speaker and we are so fortunate that Linda Slavin has managed to persuade her to come from Ottawa for our breakfast.
We hope that you will join us that day to break bread together, to join in song and to support women in Canada whose human rights are being trampled by our justice system. You are also invited to be a co-sponsor of our 2011 Persons Day Breakfast. All donations and proceeds after covering expenses go to the work of the Peterborough Women’s Events Committee for the coming year.
This committee is a working group affiliated with the Kawartha World Issues Centre. All sponsors/donors will be acknowledged at the breakfast.
