Housing Literacy Series, Nov. 9
Housing Committee sponsors the Housing Literacy Series, a free lecture series featuring speakers on affordable housing, and creating a knowledge base from which we hope to select a “do-able” project that will help alleviate at least one of the many challenges in the housing sector. The next lecture in the series is “What Really Works in Creating Affordable Housing?” featuring Heather McGregor, CEO of YWCA Toronto, Wed., Nov. 9, 2011, 12-2 pm. Senior Women’s Afternoon at the Movies, Nov. 25
Senior Women’s Afternoon at the Movies, sponsored by OWN and Toronto Public Library, will show “Made in Dagenham” (2010) on Fri., Nov. 25, at 2 pm at the Toronto Reference Library. The film is about the 1968 Ford strike, when female workers walked out in protest against unfair wages. Free admission.
