From Rev. Cherie di NovoTribute to OWN for Equality Day open house.

As the first woman in my family to be born a human person (my mother was born before 1928 when white women became ‘persons’ in Canada) and not property of my father or husband, I salute the incredible work of the Older Women’s Network. As women of colour and indigenous women became legal persons much later, I’m also aware of our privilege and the necessity to never stop fighting for justice for all women. As we all age into our true beauty and true wisdom may we see ourselves as we truly are, social justice warriors, this Equality Day.
