Constitute! tells, through interviews and recollection, the memorable story of the hundreds of Canadian women who came together spontaneously and convened a history-making conference in Ottawa. Their aim was to ensure that women’s rights were entrenched in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. In spite of political indifference, they succeeded, and we have benefitted from this protection ever since. Erin and Mary suggest a good discussion of these events to read beforehand.
