We maintain a calendar of coming events with relevance for members of the Older Women’s Network and other interested persons. Such events fall into the following rough groups, and are color-coded by these groups:
- Event sponsored or co-sponsored by OWN (other than recurring events)
- Event not sponsored by OWN, but with direct relevance to OWN issues
- Recurring OWN-sponsored events, such as meetings of:
- Book discussion groups
- Local/regional groups
- Special interest groups (SIGs): Friendship Link; La Vie en Rose French Club; In My Own Voice
- Event recommended by an individual OWN member
Events are displayed on this website in three ways:
- Calendar for the month, with brief titles and clickable links to fuller description; can page forward to future months
- Event List, listed chronologically by date of event, showing full event description; may be several pages
- When posted: Embedded in posts, according to the date the event was posted on this site (more explanation)
To submit an event to be listed on the OWN website, send the following information to ownweb@olderwomensnetwork.org :
- Description of event (lecture? party? conference?) — you can also send any electronic image (flyer) or URL (event’s webpage address)
- Day, date, time (begin and end, if possible)
Place - Sponsor(s) (names of persons and/or groups)
- Cost, if any
- RSVP requested?
- Open to: OWN members only / OWN members and guests / the general public / other qualifications
- Name and email of person submitting
